Top Five Tuesday – Top 5 Books I wish had TV adaptations

It’s time for another round of Top 5 Tuesday! This meme was started by Shanah at Bionic Bookworm and is now hosted by Meeghan at Meeghan Reads. The theme for this month is adaptations, and this week we’re naming five books that we wish had TV adaptations. For the rest of the May prompts, click here!

Next to books, TV series are one of my favourite things ever. Season 4 of Dynasty started last Friday and I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for new episodes, so I’m super happy about that. Anyways…

There are so many sci-fi and fantasy book series that would make perfect adaptations. For my list, I’m choosing a combination of books (series and standalone), mainly from those genres, that I’ve either read or have on my TBR list

1) House of Night

I don’t care that I started these in elementary school, if someone brought this to the screen, I would absolutely watch it. But imagine if they set it in college instead of high school, that would be extra exciting.

2) Marrow Thieves

I already know that if this was a show it would make me cry so much, but there would also be heart-warming moments and laughs. Anyone who liked The 100 would probably enjoy a TV adaptation of this book.

3) Uglies

My memory of this series is pretty foggy but I love dystopia and think it would be cool to see the characters and the technology from these books on screen.

4) The Ones We’re Meant to Find

This is a new sci-fi release that’s on my TBR. As a TV adaptation, it would be amazing visually, and it would be so intense with its elements of mystery and thriller.

5) Honey Girl

Honey Girl is another book on my TBR. I picture it as a comedy, like The Mindy Project or New Girl, but slightly more sophisticated, if that makes sense.

Let’s chat! Would you watch any of these? What books do you wish had TV adaptations?
