Questions

Never Have I Ever…read a later book in a series before reading the first book

I haven’t done this, mostly because the series I have read wouldn’t allow for this and I would prefer to go in order either way.

Never Have I Ever…burned a book

I wanted to burn my ninth grade math textbook in high school, but of course I didn’t go through with it, so this is true.

Never Have I Ever…read a book I knew I would hate

This one is also true. I prefer to read books that I think I’ll enjoy!

Never Have I Ever…wrote a fanfiction about my favorite books

I was very much into tumblr circa the early 2010’s so I know what fanfiction is, but I’ve never read it or written it.

Never Have I Ever…loved a book when I was young and hated it when I got older

I haven’t re-read any books from when I was younger, probably because I don’t want to ruin them. If I were to re-read Twilight I would probably hate it now (no offence to any Twilight fans).

Never Have I Ever…dressed up as one of my favorite literary characters

I haven’t, but that would be fun! I love Halloween but my costumes are always so low effort sadly.

Never Have I Ever…hated a book by an author I love

I can’t say I have. I was really disappointed once, but hate is a strong word.

Never Have I Ever…gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more

I have, but who isn’t guilty of this? My worst offence was when I went in to browse and left with three.

Never Have I Ever…read the end of a book before reading the beginning

I’m not positive, but I think I did this when I read the Pretty Little Liars series. If I remember correctly, “A” would leave a note at the end of the book and I couldn’t wait till the end to read it.

Never Have I Ever…read a book without the dust cover

I usually only buy paperback books. If I get a hardcover from the library I can’t take the dust jacket off, but I like peaking at what it looks like.

**Wait, I own the Divergent series in hardcover. I just took the dust jackets off and the second book looks pristine but the other two don’t. I’m even more confused now because I can’t remember taking them off.

Never Have I Ever…skim-read nearly half the book

Technically never. If I was behind on a book I had to read for school or I didn’t like it too much, I would skim a bit, but I felt SO guilty. When it comes to fiction I wouldn’t be able to skim a book I’m enjoying, I need to read every word.

Never Have I Ever…pretended to have read a book that I haven’t

I haven’t had a reason to and also I’d be too scared to get caught in the lie!

Never Have I Ever…seen the movie before reading the book

As far as I can remember, I haven’t. I usually read the book first.

Never Have I Ever…had a book boyfriend

Yes, no, maybe? I wish that the good boyfriends I read about in books existed in real life…

Never Have I Ever…read a history book or anthropology book for fun

I read a book about the history of heart science, if that counts? Otherwise, I can’t think of anything.

Never Have I Ever…picked up a book based on the cover alone

I have, especially before my book blogging days when I wasn’t in the loop about new releases or anything like that. But, the synopsis still had to interest me before I decided to read it.

Never Have I Ever…bought multiple books in a series without having started it

I mostly read standalones so I haven’t done this and can’t see myself doing it either.

Never Have I Ever… kept reading a series even if I didn’t love the first book

Surprisingly, this is true.

Never Have I Ever…read a book so quickly that I don’t remember what happened by the end

This sounds like a very Gemini thing to do. I haven’t read so quickly that I already can’t remember a book by the end, but maybe within a week. I try my best to avoid this though!

Never Have I Ever… recommended a book I haven’t read

I won’t push a book I haven’t read, but if suggesting books from my TBR counts, then I have.

My question:

  • Never Have I Ever…written a one star review

I tag

If you do this tag make sure to create a pingback so I can read your answers! But as always, don’t feel pressured to participate.

Have you ever written a one star review? Let me know in the comments!
