The Zodiac Book Tag

It’s Thursday and T-Minus 8 days until Gemini season, so I thought today would be a great day to do The Zodiac Book Tag, which was created by The Tomboy’s Attic. Thank you to Steph @ My Book Throne for tagging me to do this! Before we get started, make sure to check out her blog!!

My big 3: Gemini Sun | Aquarius Moon | Libra Rising

This book!!! I absolutely loved it and there wasn’t a single moment where I wasn’t completely engrossed in what was going on. Quiet In Her Bones is the definition of wild and compelling, AND the New Zealand setting made for some great imagery.

Ask Again, Yes is an emotional story about two neighbouring families and a tragedy that impacts all of them forever. It doesn’t have forbidden love in a Romeo and Juliet kind of way, but Peter and Kate’s romance threatens to tear their families apart, so I’d say this book checks the right boxes.

The witty dialogue in Other People’s Houses had me laughing out loud and it was the first book that popped into my head, so I’m going with it.

The Way Back Home is a book about family. Zoe’s grandmother has Alzheimer’s and she’s also her best friend. When Zoe breaks her out of her assisted living home, they embark on a journey to find an estranged family member. I read this for a children’s literature course and I’m not going to lie, the ending made me cry.

Drama, check; love, check; fancy wear, obviously; and hope, check.

I completely forgot about The Selection until recently, but as soon as I saw the cover—and how gorgeous is it?!—I remembered reading it and knew it would be the perfect selection, pun intended.

Loveless has all of the things mentioned in the prompt. It’s a coming of age story that’s heavy on self-love and self-discovery with strong support from friends who might as well be family!

Shonda Rhimes gets extremely real about life, her career, and motherhood in Year of Yes. I loved her memoir, and I recommend it to her fans, or anyone!

The Heatwave is definitely psychologically thrilling and emotionally chilling. Months after finishing it, I can still see some of the most haunting moments from this book in my mind.

Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour is perfect for this prompt. What’s more adventurous than a cross-country road trip that requires a fear of driving to be overcome and is filled with landmarks, food stops, and a chance at love?

If I Had Your Face is a story about four Korean women whose lives intersect because they live in the same apartment building. While they navigate their struggles as individuals, they also lean on each other for support in Frances Cha’s raw and emotional debut novel.

A Room Called Earth is unlike anything I’ve read before. It’s a contemporary novel that uses a stream of conscious narration style and takes place in the span of one night. Another thing that makes this book unique is that the main character is nameless and she is very honest about how she sees the world.

I wasn’t a huge fan of The Night Circus, but I do have to give it credit for it’s lyrical words and enchanting imagery.
